Designed to work seamlessly with the Bears & Chairs kit, these engraved tiles add sensory information to the vocabulary used in the instructions—engaging sight, touch, and movement in the learning process.
Help children follow directions by selecting the needed tiles and arranging them in the correct word order to build the sentences shown on the picture cards. When it's their turn to speak, children can use the tiles to create their own sentences, supporting their expressive language skills.
Ideal for gestalt learners.  
These tiles can be used to demonstrate how sentences are made by combining individual words—and how new sentences can be formed by substituting the vocabulary in the sentence.

I used the Touch and Talk Kit with 1st - 5th grade ESL students. Many of the students had limited experience speaking English. I love the kit because materials are easy to prepare and instructions are easy for students to understand. I used it in small group settings and with individual students. In small group, the students quickly learned to organize the objects based on the information they heard as I read it from the card. They had multiple opportunities to handle/arrange the items and then repeat the sentence that describes what they did. Starting with a concrete model and then connecting the verbal language was powerful. They illustrated the items and wrote sentences to match their drawings. Students took turns writing or building sentences with word cards made from sentence strips. Then we would read those together. I saw many faces light up as students realized they 'can do' English. Students experienced success every day I used the kit. That proved to be a powerful confidence builder. We started small and built upon their success. Using the kit with individual students gave me a consistent way to monitor their progress and observe their level of receptive and expressive language. This experience prompted me to buy the Bears & Chairs Kit to use with K-1 students. I'm excited to use it help these students build a strong foundation. I really do appreciate the kits and the thought behind them. Thank you!

Completed the Bears and Chairs. My little one enjoyed the first part. Very good. Except a couple cards missing, but we had fun. Looking forward to the next kit.
